We accept clients with arrests, convictions, registration, or probation terms from Santa Cruz County who qualify for the Public Defender based on financial need. Please fill out this application, and a member of our team will contact you within several weeks to discuss next steps. In the meantime, try to get documentation of your criminal history, either from the court (701 Ocean Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95060) or the Department of Justice (https://oag.ca.gov/fingerprints/security). Our program is typically free of charge if you qualify, though the court may charge filing fees based on your ability to pay.
