Collaborative Courts
Behavioral Health Court (BHC) is a review court that supports participants with severe mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders. To be eligible for BHC, a participant must experience significant impairment in functioning resulting from a mental health disorder, have Santa Cruz County Medi-Cal, be eligible for a county case coordinator based on an access assessment, and be amenable to participating in BHC, engaging in psychiatric treatment and taking medication as prescribed.
